Outlook - Office 365 - Transition

Update Outlook 2019 to a migrated Office 365 mailbox.

Once your email account has been migrated to Office 365 your outlook profile will need to be recreated in order for it to be reconnect to your email account. To do this, follow the below steps:


  1. New policies have to be applied to your computer following the migration of your email account from Microsoft Exchange to Office 365. These changes have to be applied in a sequence that requires you to logon to the computer two times for all of the changes to get applied.
    1. Start by completely restarting your computer to ensure that all background process connected to Outlook do not prevent Outlook from completely closing.
    2. Once you have logged on to your computer, wait approximately two minutes for the first policies to get applied then restart your computer.
    3. After logging on to the computer the second time, wait approximately two minutes for the second policy to get before opening Outlook.
  2. When you open Outlook, you will see the below pop-up to configure your Outlook profile.
    1. If you get a different login prompt, cancel and close Outlook and wait another two minutes before retrying.
    2. In some cases, it may take longer for the policies to apply. If access to email is needed, open a web browser and go to https://outlook.office.com to access the email web portal.
    3. Click the connect button to begin the profile creation.

    4. For the account type, select Office 365.

  3. You may be asked to authenticate using the LPSO Microsoft 365 portal. This is the same login portal that is used for UKG and many other web-based applications currently in use
  4. In the below popup, select “Yes, all apps” to allow your Outlook login session to used to automatically login to other application that use the LPSO Microsoft 365 portal for authentication.

  5. Click done.

  6. Click ok.
